Falai ("we", "us") is a web and mobile app that offers AI-assisted mystical and entertainment content such as coffee-cup readings, tarot, horoscopes and similar features. This page explains what data is collected when you use the Falai website (falaiapp.com) and the Falai Android app, and how it is used. Falai is for entertainment and personal reflection; it does not make predictions you should rely on for health, legal, financial or other important decisions.

Data We Collect

Anonymous ID: When you open the app or site, an anonymous ID is created through Firebase Authentication. It does not contain an email, password or other personal information.
Optional Google sign-in: If you choose to link your account with Google (to protect your token balance if you reinstall the app), we receive the account identifier and the basic profile details Google shares for sign-in (such as your name and email address).
Profile you provide: In the app you can enter a name, a zodiac sign and, for some features, birth date, birth time and birthplace. This information is used to create your readings and is sent to our AI providers together with your request. Your name, zodiac sign, a short friend code, a notification token and a last-seen time are stored in our database so that features such as Coffee Friends and notifications work. Your reading history is stored on your own device.
Photos you upload: Photos you take or choose for features such as coffee-cup readings are sent only to produce your reading, to our AI providers (Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, Groq). They are not stored permanently on our servers.
Voice (live chat): If you use the live tarot or live coffee-reading chat, your microphone audio is streamed in real time to our live-chat service and the AI provider so that it can answer you. The app does not save your recordings.
Location (Cosmic Radar, optional): Only if you turn on the Cosmic Radar and grant location permission, your device location is stored in our database while the radar is on so that nearby users can be shown to you and you to them. Others see only your mystic nickname, zodiac sign and approximate distance — not your real name. You can turn the radar off at any time.
Social features: If you use Coffee Friends (friend requests, chat messages, cosmic codes), this data is stored in our Firestore database so that matching and messaging work.
Purchases: Token purchases are made through Google Play. We verify purchases with Google and keep your token balance and purchase records. We do not receive or store your card details.
Notifications and reminders: The app can send daily-message notifications and reminders (it may use scheduled alarms and restart them after the device reboots). You can turn notifications off in your device settings.
Usage, diagnostics and security logs: The app uses Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, which collect technical information such as device model, operating system version, app version, an app-instance identifier and crash reports. To prevent abuse we also keep a hashed summary of IP addresses and request counts temporarily; this is not used to identify you.
Browser storage (website): On the website your "Cosmic Archive" is kept in your browser's own storage (localStorage). It is not sent to our servers, is not synced between devices and is removed when you clear your browser data.

Permissions the Android App May Ask For

Camera / photo access: to take or pick the photos used in readings.
Microphone: only for live voice chats and voice input features.
Location: only for the optional Cosmic Radar.
Notifications, exact alarms, start on boot: for daily messages and reminders.
Network access and billing: to use the service and make token purchases.

Advertising

Falai shows ads served by Google (AdMob in the app, and AdSense on the website where enabled). Google and its partners may use cookies or advertising identifiers to show and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted. In regions where the law requires it (for example the EEA and the UK), the app asks for your consent through Google's consent message before showing personalized ads, and no ad requests are made until that choice is resolved; you can change your choice later in Settings → Ad Privacy Options. You can also reset or opt out of personalized advertising in your device's Google settings. See Google's policy on advertising technologies here.

Sharing of Data

We do not sell your data. We share data only with service providers that help us run Falai: Google (Firebase, Google Cloud, Google Play, advertising), and the AI providers named above, which process a request only to generate the reading you asked for. Our backend runs on Google Cloud, so your data may be processed in the United States and other countries where these providers operate.

Coffee-Cup Readings on Social Media (Threads)

If you reply to a post on Falai's Threads account with a coffee-cup photo (or with tarot numbers) to get a reading, we send the photo only to our AI providers to prepare your reading and do not keep the photo itself. What we store is: the generated reading text (at falaiapp.com/f/CODE, visible to anyone who knows the code), your Threads username so we can track that you were answered, and the date of your last reading to prevent abuse. Your username appears in the greeting of the reading, so it becomes visible if you share the reading's link. To have this data deleted, write to ahtbayar@gmail.com. We count how many times reading pages are opened and how many times the "Download the Falai app" button is clicked, as plain counters without collecting personal data. Reading pages are marked so that search engines do not index them. If your Threads profile is private, your reply may not reach us.

Your Choices and Rights

You can stop providing optional data at any time: turn the radar off, deny the permissions above in your device settings, sign out of Google, or stop using the app. Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or California law), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data and to object to certain processing. To request access to or deletion of the data stored on our servers (for example your profile, friend data or radar location), email ahtbayar@gmail.com from the address linked to your account or tell us your cosmic code, and we will respond as soon as we can.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as Falai changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
